Libby Miller

I was born and raised in Altoona. My husband, David and I have 2 adult sons, Quincy and Derek.  When I young The Book Mobile came to our elementary school because we didn't have a city library.  Then the Altoona Library opened in the little white house on 1st Avenue  when I was 14.   I have fond memories of time spent with friends  in the basement kid's room - and we thought it was great!   When my boys were young we attended a lot of children's programs and spent many afternoons in the red brick library that now houses the Altoona Police Dept.

In 1997 I had the honor of serving on the building committee for the new library and I  served as a member and officer of the Friends of the Altoona Public Library for many years.

As a new library board member in 2014, I am excited to be learning more about how the library can serve our community as it thrives and adapts to technology today.  It is my privilege to serve as a trustee.
